I am currently refreshing my knowledge on the Safari Montage software. Teachers are going to be able to use this software to watch our morning news show, upload videos to share with their students, and eventually students will be able to use Safari Montage as a presentation tool. I can't wait to use these new ideas.
How is it already November? We are moving into the 2nd 9 weeks, and boy are we busy! Students are STAR testing to see how their reading levels have changed since the beginning of school. We have had several students to jump an entire grade level since August! I am so proud of them! Also, our 1st graders are getting into Accelerated Reader testing and we are quickly earning our superhero badges by making 100s on tests.
This past Friday we had a Fall dance. I think the students really enjoyed themselves and had a great time dancing, singing, and hanging out with their friends. We will be posting pictures soon hopefully! I went to a Maker Space Professional Development this past Saturday with other Richland 1 librarians, and we had lots of fun! Ida Mae Craddock from Burley Middle School was our speaker, and she did a great job! I learned how to make simple circuits from LED lights, copper tape, and watch batteries. We also made magnet games, bridges, paper airplanes, trebuchets, instruments from "trash", and made art from weeded books. I will post my video later of my circuits lighting up. I look forward to putting some of these ideas into the library soon. I know the students will enjoy making different things!
